Prime Staycations is a marketplace connecting guests with verified accommodation hosts throughout Kenya. We help guests discover and book quality short stays while giving hosts tools to list, manage, and earn from their properties.

We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, store, process, protect, and share information when you use our website, mobile experiences, and related services.

By using Prime Staycations, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the platform.

We collect information to create accounts, enable bookings, process payments, verify identities, and keep the platform safe. We collect only what is reasonably necessary for these purposes.

Guest account information may include:

Full name, email address, phone number, and date of birth
National ID verification status and profile photo
Saved payment methods (tokenized only — never full card numbers)
Booking history, saved listings, wishlist, reviews, and messages

Host accounts

Hosts provide business details, identity and address verification, emergency contact, payout information, listing information, booking performance, ratings, and host achievements.

Automatically collected information may include:

Device information, browser type, and operating system
IP address, session activity, and referral source
Cookies, analytics events, and crash reports

Prime Staycations uses collected information to:

Create and manage guest and host accounts
Verify identity and approve hosts
Process bookings, payments, and host payouts
Prevent fraud and monitor platform quality
Provide customer support and resolve disputes
Send receipts, booking confirmations, and check-in instructions
Improve search, recommendations, and AI-assisted features

We do not use your personal data to sell to data brokers, serve third-party advertising, or build advertising profiles for external parties.

Security guarantee

Every payment is protected through encrypted transmission and provider verification. Prime Staycations never stores raw card numbers on our servers.

Guest payments and host payouts are processed securely through Paystack and, where applicable, M-Pesa. These licensed providers handle financial credentials in accordance with PCI-DSS and applicable financial regulations.

We retain only payment references, transaction status, amounts, dates, and booking references required for receipts, refunds, fraud prevention, and legal record-keeping.

Full card numbers are never stored by Prime Staycations
Saved payment methods are tokenized by our payment provider
M-Pesa transactions are handled by Safaricom; we retain confirmation references only
Host payout details are stored in encrypted form for payout processing only

Why verification matters

Identity verification may be required for guests and hosts. Verification documents are securely stored and only accessible to authorized staff who need them for trust, safety, or compliance purposes.

Verification is used for guest safety, host approval, fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance. Verified status may appear on your profile; underlying documents are never publicly displayed.

Government-issued ID and selfie verification may be collected where required

Encryption in transit

All data in transit is protected using TLS encryption. No sensitive data is transmitted in plaintext.
